Electrical Safe Work Practices Assessments

Operating a successful business today requires maximum use of people, plant, and processes. No room exists for untrained people working in unsafe environments with ineffective processes, especially in an electrical environment. Shaw Energy Delivery Services, Inc. offers an assessment to evaluate people, plant and processes. The assessment focuses on the following areas:

• Responsibilities (management, supervision, employees)
• Administrative control (location management, escorting non-authorized personnel, security, accident/incident investigation, safety reviews)
• Training
• Basic rules (ten foot rule, minimum approach distances)
• Job briefing
• Risk assessment
• Personnel protective equipment
• Safe work zones
• Lock out/tag out
• De-energizing lines and equipment
• Switching procedures
• Grounding
• Working on energized equipment
• Mobile equipment
• Fall protection
• Inspection and testing of special tools and equipment
• Design and operation (substations, lines, fencing, signage, substation inspections, storage)
• Single-line circuit diagrams
• The process or processes that affect all areas above

Depending on the size of your facility, a team of experts will evaluate the above and identify any special concerns. After conducting the evaluation, a formal report of findings and recommendations will be provided.
